Biography

Sarah Dykstra is a Licensed Master Social Worker and works as a Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) on our Integrated Behavioral Health team. BHCs at Community Care Physicians are licensed mental health providers and social workers. Many are embedded within our practices working side by side with your doctor and health care team in delivering you the best “whole person” healthcare possible.

Sarah has experience in individual counseling, solution-focused brief therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness-based therapy. Her background includes substance use, depression, anxiety, and stress management/coping skills. Sarah worked as a medical social worker in a hospital setting and was a graduate intern in both school and community settings.

Sarah’s interest in psychology began in high school. She was always fascinated with how the mind works. When she realized that an individual’s quality of life improves based on cultivating healthy and positive thoughts, she decided to pursue a career in this area of medicine. Sarah loves helping people discover the connection and healthy balance between mind, body, and spirit. Her favorite part of the job is planting seeds to help people flourish and assisting people in finding their strengths.

Sarah enjoys yoga, Olympic weightlifting/CrossFit, baking, boating on Lake George, and volleyball.
