Dr. Jayaprabha (Jaya) Nair is a double board certified child and adolescent and adult psychiatrist. She graduated from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in 2009 and completed her general psychiatry training at Cooper Hospital of Rowan University in New Jersey in 2013. Dr. Nair then completed her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship training at Washington University in St. Louis in 2015. She has experience treating a wide variety of psychiatric illnesses, having worked at VA centers and community mental health organizations in the past. Dr. Nair is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and a Stigma in Mental Health caucus member of the World Psychiatric Association. Her specialties include trauma-related mental illness and reducing polypharmacy through holistic, mindfulness-based, mind-body approaches.
When not serving the mental health needs of patients, she enjoys writing, South Indian ballet (Mohiniattam) dancing, and singing Classical South Indian (Carnatic) vocal music.
